Description

The Old Rectory, now a house, is a late 17th-century rectory that has been refenestrated and had additions made in the mid-19th century. It features coursed and squared rubble, partly rendered, with slate roofs. The building has a chamfered plinth, rusticated quoins, moulded and rebated eaves, and coped gables with kneelers. It is two storeys plus garrets in height and has an L-plan layout with five bays.

The windows are primarily 19th-century plain sashes with cornices and projecting reveals. The east front includes four moulded steps leading to a central panelled door with an overlight and moulded surround, flanked by two sashes. Above this door, there are five additional sashes. Each gable has two 20th-century garret casements. The north gable features two blocked windows on each floor, while the south gable has two round-headed casements, one of which is blocked, and a sash to its right. Above the south gable, there are two sashes, with the right one blocked. The rear of the building has two sashes on each floor to the left, and above, there is a round-headed stair light and a casement.

The rear wing is two storeys and two bays, with steps to a door featuring a projecting architrave on the north side. To the right, there is a 20th-century porch with a door in the return angle, and two glazing bar windows above, along with a single Yorkshire sash.

Adjoining the rectory is a coursed rubble garden wall with slab and gabled copings and two ball finials. There are single doorways on the north, east, and west sides of the wall, which has a square plan measuring approximately 20 meters on each side.
