Description
Brook House is a house dating from the 17th century, with early 19th century raising, alterations, and an addition. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and painted brick dressings. The roof is made of pantiles and has two brick gable stacks and a single ridge stack. The building has a lobby entry plan and is two storeys high with a four-bay front, along with a later single-bay, two-storey addition to the right.
The off-centre flush panel door is flanked on the left by two sliding sashes and on the right by a deeper sliding sash with a four-panel overlight. On the first floor, there are three two-light sliding sashes set into the eaves. The extension features a three-light sliding sash with an overlight, and above it, there is another three-light sash at the eaves. All ground floor openings are topped with segmental brick arches, with the arch over the door featuring a keystone.
