Description
6 Red Lion Square is a Grade II* listed corner building located on the south side of Red Lion Square, originally likely a medieval Guild Hall from the 15th century. The building features a jettied and timber-framed design, with a stone underbuilding. It is rendered and stands three storeys tall, showcasing rusticated quoins and two 3-light windows with glazing bars. At the center of the roof, there is a small glazed lantern topped with a weather vane. Facing High Street, the building retains elements of an 18th-century shop front, characterized by Roman Ionic columns and tall proportions. Inside, a notable feature is a traceried window located in an attic cupboard. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 6 to 10 and the Public Waiting Room.
