Description
Launde House is an early 18th-century house with 19th-century additions. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features stone coped gables and moulded stacks, topped with a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with attics, and includes a plinth, a first-floor sill band, and a moulded stone cornice.
The front has five bays, with a central four-panelled 19th-century door that has a plain overlight. This door is framed by a moulded stone surround with engaged Tuscan three-quarter columns, topped with a plain hood and acroterion ornaments. On either side of the door are mid-19th-century single splayed bay windows, each with three plain sash windows and lead hipped roofs. Above the door, there is a central recessed blank panel with a moulded surround that features delicate carved floral ornamentation in a classical style. This is flanked by two 19th-century divided sash windows set in 18th-century moulded stone surrounds. A single 19th-century gabled dormer window is located above.
