Description

This building, known as No. 4A (formerly No. 3) H.M. Inspector of Taxes, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and stands three stories tall, featuring five windows across its facade. The ground floor has arcading that includes three windows and two doors, each with fanlights. The first floor windows are framed by moulded stone architraves that support pediments, while the second floor windows are set within moulded architraves. There is a decorative band located beneath the cills and above the ground floor. The building is topped with a stone cornice and a pediment.
