Description
West Laughton Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now also a flat, built in 1663 with later alterations in the late 18th century and early 20th century. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble, with red brick at the rear. It features a slate mansard roof with stone-coped gables, gable stacks, and a single ridge stack at the rear. The building has an L-plan layout and is two storeys high with an attic.
The front has three bays, a plinth, and a central doorway that is adorned with an iron lattice work porch topped with a lead roof. The deep-set, partially glazed door is flanked by two large 20th-century canted bay windows, each containing three glazing bar sashes. Above, there are three glazing bar sashes, and two flat-headed dormers, each with two light sliding sashes. A datestone on the west gable is inscribed with "TL ANO DNI 1663".
