Description
Church House and Barn is a house and barn dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The structure is built from coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a Collyweston slate roof with raised stone coped gables, a single ashlar ridge stack with a moulded cornice, and a single red brick wall and gable stacks. The barn has a pantile roof and is attached to the rear wing in an L-plan layout.
The building is a single storey with attics and has a three-bay front, with the right two bays separately gabled. There is an off-centre panelled door flanked by two plain casement windows, all with timber lintels. On the first floor, there is a single sliding sash window with a moulded stone cornice. All windows are in their original 17th-century openings and have ashlar reveals. In the roof, there is a single gabled dormer with rendered cheeks.
To the left, there is a service block with a projecting semi-circular oven. On the right side elevation, there is a two-light casement with a stone cornice, a blocked doorway, and a two-light fixed window. The barn at the rear features a central planked door in a wider original opening, with triangular breathers on either side.
