Description
The Stables at Greatford Hall are former stables and outer offices that have been converted into offices. They date back to the 17th century but have been significantly altered and extended in the 20th century. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and features a Collyweston slate roof with a single stone coped gable and an ashlar ridge stack. The rear of the building is made of 20th-century red brick.
It has a two-storey, 17-bay front with a plinth, although the right-hand three bays are later additions. The façade includes three planked doors set in Tudor arched surrounds, along with two blocked doorways that now contain windows. There are six two-light windows, three three-light windows, and two four-light windows on the lower floor, while the upper floor features seven two-light windows, one single light window, and five three-light windows. All windows have moulded surrounds, with ovolo moulded mullions and cornices. The stables on the east side have undergone substantial alterations and additions in the 20th century.
