Description

The churchyard railing and gate at the Church of St John were built in 1848 and restored in the late 20th century. Designed by G G Place of Nottingham, the structure features a double cast-iron gate topped with ball finials and a plain overthrow that includes a lamp holder. On either side of the gate, there are chamfered ashlar plinths with renewed cast-iron railings. At each end of the railing, there are square, gabled ashlar piers with buttresses. This structure is included for its group value.
