Description

The Conduit, located at the end of Conduit Lane on the west side, is a low rectangular stone structure dated 1597. It features diagonal buttresses at the corners and an embattled parapet with modern pinnacles. The building underwent repairs in 1795 and again in 1927. On the east side, there is a drinking fountain. The original work was completed by the Grey Friars in the 14th century, similar to the Intake House on Dysart Road. A photograph of the structure is available in the National Monuments Record.
