Description
The Kennels is a house built around 1830, possibly designed by Joseph Ireland. It features coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a concrete tiled roof with reused stone coped gables. The building has two storeys and a five-bay front, with an attached central three-storey facetted tower entrance that includes a cornice and an embattled parapet. The central entrance consists of a planked door with a four-pane overlight, flanked by pairs of two-light casement windows. On the first floor, there are similar windows along with a central single casement. At the top of the tower, there is a single fixed leaded light. All openings are framed with chamfered ashlar surrounds and have moulded hoods, while the windows feature chamfered mullions.
