Description

This is an early 18th-century house situated on London Road. The house is constructed of red brick with a hipped roof covered in modern slates, featuring two dormers. It is two storeys high and has clustered chimney stacks and a brick cornice. There are five windows in total. The central section projects forward, featuring a moulded dentil cornice and a small pediment. The windows are set in flush frames with straight brick arches and brick keystones, and are hung sashes with glazing bars. The central window has a distinctive waved arch. A later door is present, and an attractive porch is constructed from iron treillage. Flanking the main block are narrow, lower, one-window wings; one to the left over the doorway, and one to the right with a single window to each storey, topped with a segmental head. The building forms a group with numbers 31 to 35 (inclusive) and the garden wall to number 34.
