Description
Chesspool House is a house built in the early 18th century, extended in 1811 and raised in the late 19th century. It features red brick in Flemish bond with a roof made of pantiles and slate, along with red brick gable stacks. The original cottage on the left has three bays and an added first floor, which includes a half-glazed door flanked by single plain sash windows, all topped with segmental brick heads. On the first floor, there are two similar glazing bar sash windows. The taller two-storey bay added in 1811 has a plain sash window on the ground floor and a glazing bar sash on the first floor. A brick inscribed and dated 1811 is located below the ground floor window, and there are contemporary fluted niches in the room within.
