Description
Sheepwash Grange is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations from the late 18th century and the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features plain tile roofs; the main block has a hipped roof with a central stone stack, while the side wing has a half-hipped roof with a lateral stack. The building has irregular quoins and is two storeys high.
The south front has three bays, with a central projecting stone porch that contains a 20th-century panel door. To the left of the porch is a blocked window, and to the right is a fixed window with glazing bars. Above the porch is a central coat of arms, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. The west front features a canted bay window with glazing bar sashes, and above it are two windows; the left window has a glazing bar sash, while the right window is blocked. Each front has a glazing bar sash window, with another glazing bar sash above, and a blocked window to the right. The east wing has a panel door with an overlight to the left, and a three-light casement followed by a two-light casement, with similar windows above. This building is located on the site of a former Cistercian Grange, which was previously used as a warehouse and wool store.
