Description

Grey Garth is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has a pantile roof with ashlar coped gables featuring moulded kneelers. Two square gable stacks are present. The house has quoins, a rendered plinth, and a moulded ashlar eaves band. It follows a T-plan and is two storeys high with an attic, extending across three bays. The central doorway is accessed via a 19th-century half-glazed door set within a decorated, gabled wooden porch. It is flanked by single, chamfered mullion windows with two lights, each under a drip mould. Above these are three similar two-light windows with drip moulds. Above these again are two gabled dormers with plain casements. A long, two-storey wing extends to the rear, featuring various chamfered mullion windows.
