Description

This is an 18th-century lodge, remodelled around 1810, located to the east of Canwick Hall. The lodge is constructed from roughly-shaped limestone rubble with a first floor sill band and an upper floor of white brick. It has a hipped slate roof and a single white brick chimney stack. The building is square in plan and two stories high. The north front features a rubble ground floor, an ashlar first floor sill band, and a white brick upper floor. A six-panel door is on the right, with a small sash window to the left. Above are two large sash windows with multiple panes of glass. The west front is of white brick with a first floor sill band, a doorway on the right, and two sash windows with multiple panes of glass, one larger than the other, on the ground floor. The upper floor has a larger pair of glazing bar sashes. The east front has a single small sash window and a similar glazing bar sash above to the left, alongside a small fragment of medieval tracery, likely originating from the church, incorporated into a plain corbel.
