Description
Lawn Hall is a house built in the late 17th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century and additions from the 20th century. It features a combination of limestone ashlar and brick construction, topped with plain tile roofs and has two ridge stacks along with two gable stacks. The building has a chamfered ashlar plinth and is two stories high with three main bays, plus two single bay additions on the east side.
The entrance is off-centre, featuring a six-panel door with a radial overlight set within a wooden pilaster surround. To the right of the door is a single canted bay window fitted with glazing bar sashes. On either side of the main entrance, there are single tripartite glazing bar sashes, each with ashlar wedge lintels that have keystones. The upper floor has three similar tripartite sashes. The two-storey addition to the left includes a three-light glazing bar casement and a 20th-century glazing bar window above, along with another single 20th-century casement further along.
Inside, the house contains a single exposed chamfered spine beam and a late 18th-century staircase with stick balusters.
