Description

The Village Lock-up, located on Church Street in Digby, is a 17th-century structure that was restored in the 20th century. It is made of limestone ashlar and has a circular shape, standing 2 meters high. The top features an ogee cap with a ball finial. There is a single doorway with a plank door, framed by moulded chamfered ashlar jambs. This lock-up was originally a wellhead and shares a similar design with other wellheads found in Digby, Coleby, Wellingore, and Leasingham.
