Description
The Horse and Jockey Public House is an 18th-century building with 19th and 20th-century additions. It features coursed rubble walls topped with a pantile roof and red brick stacks, arranged in an L-plan across four sections. The central section is a three-bay, two-storey structure from the late 18th century, which has a modern door and side windows, along with two modern lattice casements that have wooden lintels. Above these, there is one sash window with white brick voussoirs, one sliding casement, and one 19th-century casement.
To the south, there is an earlier single-storey section with dormers and a more steeply pitched roof, likely an early 18th-century cottage. This section has two modern lattice casements and a 19th-century door, all featuring wooden lintels. There are also two red brick dormers above the eaves with sliding casements. Further south, there is a single-storey 20th-century extension with a casement window.
To the north of the central section, there is an early 19th-century, two-storey gable-ended extension, which has a modern lattice casement below a wooden lintel and a 19th-century sash window above, also with brick voussoirs.
