Description
The conduit, located 20 meters southwest of the Church of St Mary le Wigford in Lincoln, dates from around 1540 and is now disused. It is constructed from 15th century worked stone fragments sourced from Whitefriars Priory. The structure features diagonal buttresses, a chamfered plinth, and a band made from the heads of canopies. It has a coped parapet and gables adorned with a quatrefoil frieze and ball finials. The conduit is rectangular and approximately 3 meters long. The west side and both gables display sections of a blind arcade with four bays. Below the west arcade, there is a round-headed recess for the spout. The east side includes three corbels and a close-boarded door. This site is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County No. 22.
