Description
The close wall and tower located in the gardens of numbers 2, 10, and 25 Minster Yard in Lincoln date from 1316 to 1321 and were constructed for Chancellor Antony Bek. The structure features an ashlar facing on a rubble core and has a slightly curved plan. The coping was covered in ivy at the time of the survey. The wall is approximately 60 meters long and includes a square tower with three stages, a crenellated parapet, crosslets, and a taller square turret on the west side. This building is part of an extension of the Cathedral Close wall designed to enlarge the garden of The Chancery at number 11 Minster Yard. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
