Description
Masonry fragments located 25 meters east of the chancel at Monks Abbey, which was a cell of St Mary's Abbey in York, date back to the 13th century. These fragments consist of rubble wall cores that have an irregular shape. They are included for their group value. The site is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County No. 24.
