Description

A Primitive Methodist Chapel dating from 1838, constructed of red brick and featuring a hipped pantile roof with decorative eaves. The building is single-storied. The south end has a distinctive semi-circular doorway topped with a traceried fanlight and a partially glazed door. A plaque above the doorway is inscribed “Primitive Methodist Chapel. 1838.” The west and east sides each contain two sash windows with segmental heads and glazing bars. Inside, the original features include painted, panelled pews and a raised reading desk platform with turned balusters, a moulded handrail, lower panelling, and a central panel extending up to the lectern.
