Description
The Old Vicarage is a house that was originally built as a vicarage in 1830, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features shallow pitched slate roofs with overhanging eaves. The building has two storeys and a deep basement, along with three gable and three ridge stacks that have diagonally set shafts.
The entrance front has three windows and a central two-storey gabled porch that is accessed by six steps. The porch features a four-centred arched doorway with half-glazed double doors. Above the doorway is a chamfered band, followed by a coat of arms, a nine-pane sash window, and another coat of arms. On either side of the porch are single twelve-pane sash windows, and above them are single nine-pane sash windows.
To the right of the main entrance is a set-back lower wing that has a tripartite sash window on the ground floor and a through eaves dormer above with a nine-pane sash window. The garden front has four windows, including a tall canted bay window on the right with sash windows, two twelve-pane sashes to the left, and a narrow similar sash beyond. Above, there are four nine-pane sash windows, with the one on the left being narrower.
