Description

The New Inn is an inn that dates from the 17th century, with mid-18th century and 19th century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features pantile roofs with coped and tumbled gables, two gable stacks, a single ridge stack, and a single tall lateral stack. The building has a 17th-century L-plan with an 18th-century range added into the re-entrant angle. It stands two and a half storeys high with a five-bay front, which includes a gabled 17th-century bay on the right and four 18th-century bays to the left.

The front has a brick plinth and a doorway on the left with a plain doorcase and a panelled door. To the left of this doorway is a glazing bar sash window with a segmental head. To the right, there is a three-light glazing bar sash window with a segmental head, followed by another doorway with a plain doorcase and a partially glazed door. Next to this is another glazing bar sash window with a segmental head and a blocked doorway beyond it. Above, there are four glazing bar sashes with segmental heads, and a larger glazing bar sash window has been inserted into the gabled bay on the right. There are also four smaller glazing bar sashes above, all featuring segmental heads.
