Description

East Kirkby House is an early 18th-century house, substantially re-fronted in the early 19th century with later 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick, with some ashlar and stucco detailing. The roof is slate-covered, with ashlar coped gables featuring kneelers and dogtooth eaves. The house is two and a half storeys high and five bays wide. A central, late 19th-century stuccoed porch with Doric pilasters and a parapet contains a doorway with a part-glazed door and overlight. Either side of the porch are single tripartite glazing bar sash windows set beneath deep segmental arches. Above are five glazing bar sash windows with flush wedge brick lintels. The top floor has five similar, smaller sash windows, also with flush wedge brick lintels.
