Description
Prospect Tower is a gazebo built around 1812, possibly designed by Sir Jeffry Wyattville. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and has a square plan. Each side features giant order round arches with ashlar imposts and raised keystones. The west side includes a doorway with a round head and a blind traceried panelled door. Above this is an ashlar string course, with pilaster buttresses marking the corners of the second stage. Each side has a single dummy window with painted glazing bars. The buttresses extend to corner turrets and lead to an octagonal third stage, which has single oculi on the north, south, and east sides. The tower is topped with an ashlar string course and a coped parapet. Inside, the staircase is in fragmentary condition.
