Description
Trusthorpe Hall is a small country house, now converted into flats, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brown brick with stucco dressings and features a hipped slate roof with two ridge stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories high with a five-bay front, arranged in a 2:1:2 pattern. The broad central bay and angle pilasters are slightly advanced from the main facade.
The central entrance consists of a tripartite doorway with a six-panel door, sidelights, and a traceried fanlight. Above this is a dentillated segmental open pediment supported by carved brackets and flanked by pairs of glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there are four similar windows, with a central tripartite window featuring a fanlight, which has a concentric moulded stucco head with impost blocks adorned with lion heads and keyblocks decorated with foliage. All windows are topped with splayed rusticated stucco lintels and fluted keyblocks.
To the right side of the front is a splayed bay window with glazing bar sashes and a dentillated cornice. At the rear, there is a slightly later projecting block made of red brick, which has a parapet and consists of four bays and two stories. This block features a central half-glazed door, a semi-circular headed opening to the left with key and impost blocks, and two glazing bar casements to the right. On the first floor, there is a Venetian window with a semi-circular arch above, which has a fluted keystone and plain imposts.
Inside, the building retains a dog leg stair with slender turned balusters and a carved string.
