Description
Lindum is a holiday cottage built in 1901 from two disused Great Eastern railway carriages. The structure is single storey and constructed of timber with an asphalt roof. The entrance features a projecting gabled porch topped with a pantile roof and a 20th-century glazed door. There are single windows on either side of the porch, and above the panelled ends of the carriages, there are triangular windows. The north side has a 20th-century lean-to, while the south side showcases the carriage facade, which includes five doors and two-light windows in between. The original barrel vaulted roof has been covered with asphalt. Lindum is recognized as a very early, important, and well-preserved example of a holiday cottage made from railway carriages.
