Description
The Limes is a house built in the late 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of rendered brick and features a Westmorland slate roof with stone-coped gables and a single gable stack. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two stories tall with a three-bay front. On the ground floor, there is an early 19th-century full-width projection with a lead roof. This projection includes a central flush panel door with a decorative roundel and an overlight, flanked by fluted Doric columns and tripartite bow windows that have roll-moulded pilasters and roundels. The first floor has three glazing bar sash windows. To the right, there is a single-bay, single-storey lean-to range with a two-light window.
