Description
Nos. 9 and 11 on Willington Road are almshouses that were originally founded by Robert Hunt in 1664. They have been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof with two brick gable stacks. It is a single-storey structure with a six-bay front and a plinth. At each end, there are planked doors, and the front includes four glazing bar sash windows, along with two blocked openings in the middle. All openings have segmental brick heads. A notable feature is the ashlar datestone that displays the initials RHA and the date of 1664.
