Description

The Nook is a house and surgery built around 1800. It is constructed of pale red brick with lighter headers and features a Swithland slate roof, complete with brick gable copings and flanking brick chimneys. The building has three storeys and three bays, with a rendered plinth, moulded band courses, and well-crafted moulded brick eaves.

The windows are wooden casements with arched glazing bars and cambered heads, with the lower window featuring a transom. The first and second floors have three-light windows flanking central two-light windows, while the second floor includes a blind central window panel. The ground floor has an irregular layout, with a single staircase window on the left and a three-light window on the right. There are two doors in the center and left of center; the left door is an original six-panelled door with a reeded frieze, fanlight, and eared architrave surround. A central half-glazed door was inserted in the mid-20th century into a former window opening. Both doors are sheltered by a 20th-century lean-to porch made of colourwashed brick. To the left, there is a lower bay with a later gabled extension that projects to the front.

Inside, the property features a staircase with stick balusters, cut scroll tread ends, and a wreathed handrail.
