Description

Coleorton Hall features a memorial and bust-capped piers dedicated to Sir Joshua Reynolds, dating from the early 19th century. The memorial consists of a plain square funeral urn with eared corners, positioned on three steps, and it carries an inscription in memory of Reynolds by Wordsworth. Facing this memorial is a lime avenue lined with decorative cobble and brickwork, which leads to a pair of piers topped with busts of Michelangelo and Raphael. The urn and grave were later painted by Constable.
