Description
Ashby Lodge features an early 19th-century gateway with a cemented gate pier and a cast iron screen. This screen includes four openwork cast iron piers, two of which display the Ferrers Crest, coronet, and motto on plaques, topped by flaming bowls. The other two piers carry square lanterns surmounted by Earl's coronets. The gateway is flanked by speartop railings and includes two drive gates and two pedestrian gates. The single-storey lodge is designed in a Tudor style with a cross plan, constructed of stucco with stone dressings around the windows and other features, and it has a slate roof.
