Description

Eastgate House is a house dating from 1720. It is constructed of red brick with black brick headers in a Flemish bond pattern, featuring string courses, and has a plain tiled roof, renewed in the 20th century, with coped gables. A central stack is positioned to the left of the front door, and a square ridge stack is on the rear wing. The front façade has two and a half storeys with three casement windows, each with a brick cambered lintel. The central doorway features a lintel dated 1720. A casement window is set within the gable at the left end, as well as on the ground floor. The rear of the property includes a contemporary one-window wing of the same height and materials. Adjoining the rear is an 18th-century red brick two-storey one-window wing, which is lower than the main structure and has a 20th-century tile roof and an end stack. Inside, the hall has a contemporary oak staircase with turned balusters and beams over, along with fielded panel doors.
