Description

No. 17, Church Street is a house dating from around 1800. It is built of red brick with a plain tiled roof, featuring brick end wall stacks and a central ridge stack to a rear wing. The house is two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. A floor band and dentilled eaves run along the top. The first-floor windows are casements with top lights in cambered surrounds, with one blocked centrally. The ground floor has a 20th-century door and window to the left, and a shop front dating from around 1850 to the right. The shop front features a six-panelled door with a three-pane top light, and a shop window with an eight-pane front and one-pane sides. The right end of the front facade is rendered and includes a two-light casement window in the attic. A two-storey rear wing, also dating from around 1800, has various 20th-century windows and doors.
