Description
No. 65 Market Street is a building dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a stucco band above the ground floor, a modillion eaves cornice, and a blocking course. The roof is not visible, and there are end chimneys. The building stands three storeys high and has three windows. The centre window on the first floor is set within a recessed, round-headed brick arch, with sash windows that include glazing bars. The top floor windows have late 19th-century glazing.
The ground floor boasts an attractive shop front, with bow windows flanking a central door, although only the vertical glazing bars remain. There is a dentil cornice, a frieze, and an architrave that extends over both windows and the door. The door features a rectangular fanlight and is accessed by three curved steps.
