Description
No. 7 Main Street is a house built in 1702, with possible later heightening. It features Flemish bond brickwork set on a stone plinth. The building has two storeys and a two-unit plan, with a doorway that is slightly off centre, sheltered by a bracketed wooden porch. The windows are 12-light casements, which are replacements, although the openings may be original. The ground floor has brick segmental arches, while the first floor has square-headed windows. A centrally placed stone displays the date 1702 and the initials IDF, accompanied by decorative scrolls. To the right, there is a lower one-unit extension with a slate roof that continues over a full-height entry to a former farmyard behind.
