Description

The Manor House is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 17th century and around 1820, with 19th-century additions and late 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of ironstone rubble and brick, with some areas rendered. The building features steep pitched roofs made of concrete tiles and hipped slate, along with a rubble plinth, cogged eaves, and both single lateral and gable brick stacks, as well as a stone ridge stack that has been raised in brick. The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, forming an L-plan.

The south front has a central half-glazed door set within a plain round-headed surround, which is topped by a geometrically patterned fanlight and a mid-19th-century pendant lamp. This door is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows, and above, there are three similar sash windows, all featuring arched rubbed brick heads. The east end of the house has a central tripartite glazing bar sash on each floor, also with rubbed brick arched heads. The rear wing on the east side includes a central six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed and an overlight, flanked by single 20th-century three-light casements. Above this door, there are two three-light 20th-century casements. The north gable has a 20th-century casement on each floor, and the rear wing on the north side also features a 20th-century casement on each floor.

Inside, the house contains a span beam with egg and dart moulding, as well as a plain chamfered span beam. There are two Tudor arched ashlar fireplaces with cove and rebated moulding, one of which shows traces of painting. The early 19th-century rooms are adorned with moulded cornices.
