Description

Vale View is a cottage that was originally the miller's cottage, built in the 18th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and has a painted finish, with a 20th-century pantile roof and brick stacks at each end. The cottage has a two-unit plan that has been modified to three units. It is two stories tall and features a two-window range.

The entrance is a 20th-century door located in the center, set within a porch that has a segmental-arched head. To the left of the door, there is a small one-light window with a flat-arched head, and to the right, another small one-light window with a flat-arched brick head. The ground floor has two-light casement windows; the left one has a segmental-arched brick head, while the right one has a rendered lintel. The first floor windows have wooden lintels.

The left end bay of the cottage is an addition that has been raised and features dentilled brick eaves, along with a small lean-to extension to the left. Inside, there is a chamfered spine beam and joists. The cottage was formerly thatched.
