Description
The Two Horse Memorials, dating from the late 19th century, are located in Bosworth Park, Market Bosworth. They are made of limestone and granite. One memorial is a tall, narrow limestone rubble pyramid set on a rough square base, featuring two plaques on one face. The upper plaque is inscribed with the name "TRUMPS, CHARGER OF CAPT NORTON LEGG ARC," while the lower plaque is illegible. The second memorial is a small, round-headed, tapering granite stone with a low inscription that reads: "IN MEMORY OF SCOTS GREY 10 SEASONS WITHOUT A FALL BORN 1878, DIED 1892 TRUSTY STEED, A FAITHFUL FRIEND GOOD JOURNEY TO THE END." It is likely that both memorials were erected by Charles Tollemache-Scott, who owned Bosworth Park at the time.
