Description

Wistow Bridge and gates, located approximately 30 meters southwest of the Church of St. Wistan, were likely built around 1815. The structure is made of red brick and features stone coping along with wrought-iron painted white. The bridge has two small segmental arches and a parapet with end piers and stone coping. It carries the drive leading to the church over the overflow stream from Wistow Hall lake. Closer to the church, there is a pair of gates that stand 1.5 meters high, adorned with uprights, scrolls, and fleur-de-lys finials. The lake was created around 1815, which aligns with the probable date for the construction of the bridge and gates.
