Description
Bean Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th to 18th centuries, with a refronting in the later 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. The house has a three-unit plan, with a single bay to the right of the entrance. The entrance is framed by a wooden architrave with console brackets. The windows are tall, two-light, horizontally sliding sashes, with cambered brick heads. Casement windows are present in the right-hand bay and above the door. A dentilled eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. There are two gable and two axial stacks. A rear wing, built earlier, is of brick construction with a steeply pitched roof and coped gable, including an external staircase. To the right of the house, two further bays, also of earlier date, are visible, built of brick with a roof which was probably corrugated over thatch. An axial stack and a curved principal roof truss are visible in the gable apex. A brick garden wall, attached to the left of the house, stands upon a partial cobbled plinth.
