Description
The structure is a garden wall and drinking trough niche located at Number 4 (Old Hall) on Rectory Lane, adjacent to The Manor House and bordering Manor Road. The wall dates from the 18th century, while the niche is from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with stone and blue terracotta coping. The wall stands approximately 2 meters high and separates the gardens of No. 4 (Old Hall) and The Manor House from Manor Road. About one-third of the way along the wall from the left is the niche, which features a rounded arch made of blue brick and a back wall of red brick that is approximately 1 meter high. At the base of the niche is a brick drinking trough, which appears to be fed by a spring. Further to the right, there are two wooden doorways with doors.
