Description
Ravens Court is a house that was originally built as stables for Keythorpe Hall in the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed ironstone with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. The building forms three sides of a courtyard, with the main entrance located on the east side. Here, a high wall connects the end gables of the wings of the house. The wings are prominently pedimented, supported by slight pilasters that hold up the heavily moulded pediments. The cornice runs along the wall to the central gates, where it ends in two grotesque masks. The gateway features a segmental arch that springs from pilasters, topped by a raised entablature. The main part of the house is the west range of the courtyard, which has outer pilasters and coped gables, although all doors and windows are new insertions.
