Description
The Post Office is a house dated 1643, constructed from coursed and squared ironstone rubble, with brick heightening. It features a Welsh slate roof and a gable facing the street, which includes a canted bay window that is two storeys high, topped with a stone roof and three-light ovolo moulded mullions. Above this, there is a three-light mullioned window in the attic, along with a date stone bearing the initials R.H.
The west elevation has three bays and three storeys, with the third storey being a 19th-century brick heightening. There are two doors in gabled timber porches flanking a single-light chamfered stone window. On the first floor, a similar central window is flanked by three-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. The building has an axial stack.
To the east, there is a lower extension along the street, also made of coursed ironstone rubble with some brickwork and a Welsh slate roof. This extension features a six-light window with a chamfered head on the left, a low chamfered stone light, and a three-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned window on the right. There are two upper windows with six and two lights, along with an axial stack.
