Description

Neatsgate Farmhouse and Smiths Cottage (including Barbers Cottage) is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a Welsh slate roof. The main house is three storeys high and has three bays, featuring a central door with a fanlight above, and three-light wooden mullioned and transomed windows with a lower central opening light. There are also two-light casement windows on each floor above the doorway, and a small window to the left on the ground floor. All windows have cambered brick heads. Gable end stacks are present. To the left of the main house is a two-bay addition, which has an inner door with an overlight and three-light windows on each floor, both with cambered brick heads and stuccoed keystones.
