Description
No. 1 Scotland Lane is a house dating from around 1800. It is built of red brick and features a Welsh slate roof with a brick central ridge and right end stacks. The building has two storeys and is arranged with three 3-light windows on the upper floor, where the lower part of the central light is a sliding sash. On the ground floor, the central window is similar, flanked by a centre-opening 3-light casement on the left and a 5-light canted bay window on the right, which has leaded lights. The windows have cambered lintels, except for the bay window, which is topped with a hipped roof made of Swithland slate. To the far right, there is a wooden doorcase that holds a boarded 6-panelled door, with the top panels being glazed. Inside, the house features an inglenook fireplace along with spice cupboards. It was formerly known as the Old Crown Inn.
