Description

No. 8 Churchgate is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of well-coursed ironstone rubble and features a plain tiled roof. The building is two stories high and has three bays. The central bay contains a door, while the outer bays have two-light casement windows on the ground floor. Above, there are three two-light casement windows. An unprojecting ashlar string course serves as lintels for all openings on each floor, which are adorned with incised voussoirs and keystones. Each opening also has ashlar architraves. The gables are coped and feature moulded kneelers, along with ashlar gable end stacks.
