Description

SUTTON ROAD 1. 5303 (East Side) Great Bowden The Old Rectory (formerly listed as No 6 [The Old Rectory]) SP 7488 5/149 25.7.52. II* GV

  1. A fine house of some importance. C17 with early C18 additions and front to churchyard, which is of 2 storeys, roughcast and with modillion eaves cornice. 7 windows, sashes with original glazing bars throughout and plain stone architraves, the centre window and doorcase set in rusticated stone. 6-panelled door with good traceried fanlight. Western or road facade has 2 gabled wings. Recessed 3 windowed centre with C18 door in similar doorcase as that on southern facade and with good fanlight.
